Why Aqualander zen are unique and different from all other water-shoes and short fins.

During my pool tests, I sometimes meet people who refuse to use water-shoes.
They say that water shoes reduce the feet's thrust, or inhibit the classic swim styles: they hate to train with fins or shoes.
They are right, traditional water shoes create strong resistance to advancement and don't push. Keep your legs still and save effort.
Short-fins are designed to give much more thrust than the barefoot, but bring about to different posture and movements of the legs.
They also do not allow you to walk except for short distances or in an inconvenient or ridiculous way.

Well, Aqualander are different.
Aqualander allows you to walk in an absolutely natural and comfortable way.
The Zen model has a skin shoe style, the internal space is anatomical and tight to the foot and the foot in its length, occupies the entire length of the shoe.
The width allows the fingers to remain wide and comfortable. The protrusion of the toe is quite small, the total length of the shoe is practically identical to that of other shoes that have an empty space in front of the toes.
This is important because it reduces to a minimum the weight of water that must be moved during the stroke of the foot.
While walking, the ledge does not hit the ground.
The line of the back and the tip form a single slightly arched plane flanked by two ribs that serve to canalize the water flows and increase the thrust.
All these design features serve to improve the hydrodynamics ever compared to the barefoot. They remove the vortexes on the tip caused by the shape of the fingers.
Compared to other shoes there is a strong improvement in performance because their rounded tip makes much more vortex than barefoot.
As a comparison look at the shape of a shoe of the most famous manufacturer on the market,

and to an online article

None of them has the features of Aqualander and will never have them because are patented in form and concept.
Compared to training short fins Aqualander has a much smaller and more rigid projection. In practice it is a prolongation of the upper of the foot and then helps the swimmer to use the same technique of barefoot swimming and not of fin swimming.
Despite the reduced length, the improvement of performance in swimming is very sensitive, makes feel better the thrust of the foot, makes you train for swimming styles, helps improve performance.
For ordinary people Aqualander helps to learn more quickly the swimming styles, increase their self-esteem, and do not give such help as to forget swimming without fins, as sometimes happens for beginners, who learn with their fins but than have difficulty to swim without them.
Aqualander helps but also prepares to swim better barefoot.
Another great advantage is that Aqualander have a complete shoe and not just a strap behind the heel, so they are more comfortable and protective.

Moreover, unlike all the fins and most of the sea shoes, Aqualander follows the European numbering with spaced sizes of 6.5 mm.
Almost all other fins or shoes have a chart spaced every two sizes.
You will then find the right size of Aqualander much closer to your ideal size.
